Dreaming – something that’s affordable for anyone

Dreaming is cheap. To begin with, think about what greater things you could do with what you already have.  What we all have by living, working or vacationing in this region surrounded by so much natural beauty is the perfect environment for some serious dreaming.

When that dream turns into an idea, expand your idea into an initial plan.  Take a first step, test the water then take the risk.  Don’t settle for mediocrity. Dreaming, thinking of that first idea doesn’t cost a thing. And in this challenging economy, something so affordable is worth pursuing. Make change a choice!

Dr Lucius Morse did back in the 1920’s. Beginning with a dream of a lake/resort community, he turned much of Hickory Nut Gorge into the town and waters of Lake Lure that we enjoy today.

Walt Disney and his brother, Roy, acted on their dream. “Both of us were unemployed…and neither of us could get a job.  We solved the problem by going into business for ourselves.  We established the first animated cartoon studio in Hollywood…Now curiosity keeps us moving forward, exploring, experimenting, opening new doors….Sometimes it’s not ‘what if’ that’s important.  I always want to know ‘when?’

It is important to have a dream and every dream needs a person. I wouldn’t be surprised if many of our Breeze advertisers have similar stories of starting with a dream and building a business of their own. Perhaps you have story to share with our Breeze readers – a story of opportunity, of hope after a dead end, of light at the end of the tunnel. Send me your thoughts, ideas and dreams that you have acted upon to find yourself in a better position or place. Let the dialogue begin!

If you have more memories than dreams, perhaps you should be doing something new right now! And taking a good read of this July/August issue of The Mountain Breeze may be just the thing that could trigger a memory, discover something new or create an idea that could develop into that next great idea!

Our family of writers and contributors brings a wealth of knowledge, expertise and experience to inform you and to simply make you smile in this issue of the Breeze.  Our advertisers offer a host of services upon which you can depend.

Don’t miss a page. And with more guests, vacationers and family around these parts than any other time of the year, share your Breeze with a friend.  Would you like another? Let us know (see our contact information in the left hand column on this page) and we’ll make sure you receive another.

If you can dream it, just think of the possibilities that could happen if you act on it!  Gotta go. ‘Just had another idea…
